Souls of Sikhism
Two tender souls known as ‘nikkiyan jinda wadde sakke’( tender souls with great deeds) were youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji. After leaving the fortress of Chamkaur where Sikhs were fighting a fierce battle with ten lakh Mogul army and Hindu Kings of Himalayan mountains and had no more food supplies. They decided to leave the fortress because history was to witness the turn of events and downfall of Moguls, sealing of Indian borders from invading marauders who were troubling the motherland with tyranny and oppression of all kinds. The mountainous Hindu Kingdoms joined these marauders and invaders because they were against the Sikh philosophy of equality for all and knowledge to the poor to fight for their rights. Their luxurious life was financed by the ignorant and fearful, blind faith and oppression bearing weak Hindu masses. The family of Guru Gobind Singh ji separated in the dark rainy night of wintry December. Or perhaps the Hindu Brahmin cook wanted to earn some gold coins from Subedar Wazir Khan of Sirhind so he lead them to his village nearby where he sent message and the youngest sons along with their grandmother were arrested. Wazir Khan asked them to accept Islam and they will be spared with their lives. Coming from a family of martyrs they knew the values of faith and convictions. When Nawab of Malerkotla reprimanded the Subedar Wazir Khan from killing small children and an aged grandmother they were asked again “if we release you what will you do?” The young boys aged seven and nine replied: we will again gather our Sikhs and fight till death to finish your tyranny and misrule. This angered Wazir Khan and he ordered them to brick alive. When they were being bricked alive they were again asked to accept Islam. They refused following their conviction to freedom to believe in faith of their choice and live a life of freedom from slavery. This angered the tyrant even more and he asked for Jibah that is killing of animals in slow manner in Islam before they partake as food. What cruelty and barbarism on small children. But two sons of Guru Gobind Singh were steadfast in their belief and became the youngest martyrs in the history of the world. Their bodies and that of their grandmother Mata Gujar Kaur ji who was thrown from the fort and killed, were thrown in wild barren land. But a Hindu follower of Guru Gobind Singh ji recovered the bodies and bought land with gold coins to cremate them with honour. One Hindu betrays them for gold coins and another spends all his gold coins to bring them honour they deserved. This is the human nature that is cultivated with great difficulty. When Guruji heard the sequence of their death penalty he declared that today the dawn of Moguls sun is set.
An emissary of Guru Gobind Singhji came and started destroying the Moguls from same land of Sirhind and wielded his sword in such manner that Moguls and Afgans started fearing Sikhs though they were always minority. His bravery and valor became exemplary for Sikhs and bases of Sikh Empire was erected and invaders stopped forever to look at India. The dream of Islamic invaders remained unfulfilled to convert India into an Islamic country like they did in other parts of Asia. Today Muslims remain a minority in India. It is important to bring this historical fact known to all Indians that such tender souls have laid their lives for remaining convicted to freedom of belief of your choice and freedom from slavery. We owe two tears to these young boys Fateh Singh and Jorawar Singh who gave their lives so that we could live in freedom with our believes. For me the freedom struggle of India had started with martyrdom of these two tender souls.
