Inner Strength -6
Talking of Deras it will be interesting to throw some light on the modus operandi of these institutionalised exploiters. I would not like to mention the name but the Santji of this dera I know has organised every activity so perfectly that it can make case study for the students of management and PhD thesis. There is a large langar hall attached to this dera where free kitchen is offered and forty nearby villages are assigned duties to do the car seva of cooking food here. 3-4 villages have to send people for doing Kar seva here. Free food is the only incentives that villagers stop their work and come for Kar seva. Daily milk is asked to be brought to the dera and days are assigned to 3-4 villages for bringing milk. This milk is churned to make butter and rest is used for making kheer and tea. The butter thus churned is made into ghee and sold in the market. The worst thing is that the seva is exploited to make huge 3-7 seven story buildings to erect schools and training institutes and the education from these schools and institutes is not free but a hefty fees is charged and that amount most villager cannot afford to pay. The grains are collected from villagers as far 50 kilometers from the dera and all the surplus is sold in the market and en-cashed. Apart from this Sant ji make foriegn trips to entice people to contribute to his enterprise in the name of charitable and social work he is doing in this area. For eye wash some social work are praise worthy. But on the whole the enterprise is to take people away from the principles of Sikhism that is kirat karni, wand shakna and simran instead exploit them for the sake of these principles to run multi billion enterprises and benefits are reserved for the Sant and his dera. The schools run by this dera never have regular teachers because they are not paid according to the pay commission and always leave. The standard of education thus becomes a question mark.Government does not have any auditors for such enterprises and everything gets excused in the name of religion. Moreover the political parties use the platform of these deras to hold sway on people and consolidate their party's position.
