Summer of 2014 in Punjab
Unfortunate and unpardonable – the unfortunate act of violence that took place at the Golden Temple in Amritsar after the completion of remembrance ceremony of martyrs of Operation Blue Star is indeed unpardonable. It only shows the desperation of marginalized and confused hard liners who want to come to lime light and press their agenda of violence. They shamelessly put the sanctity of Darbar sahib at stake; they are oblivious of Sikh cause and Sikh mission. By brandishing swords they have not only defied the rules and regulations of Tenth Master Guru Gobind Singh that sword is to be used only against tyrant and to fight for the rights of weak and victims of injustice but they scrupulously defied the honour that the sixth Master gave to the sword that it should remain in sheath while at Akal Takht. The building up of anger of the Sikh community against the government for its unpardonable denial of justice, compensation to the victims of 1984 violence and Sikh genocide can be understood but still the violence against own people to promote militant agenda in Darbar Sahib just because world media is present is definitely uncalled for. Each Sikh Guru has taught us to be humble but at the same time awakened us to be prepared to fight against injustice and tyranny and not against your own people. Basically these misguided youth need very patient transformation and right path to Sikhism. I only hope SGPC has learned a lesson and will do something in this matter. Taksali agenda is only harming cause of Sikh mission.
