Ashtapadi 7 continues: By keeping the company of Saints not only the man gets emancipated but also his family, relations and close friends. One obtains that wealth in the company of Saints that can be showered righteous judge (Dharmraj) serves him, the angels and Gods sing his praises, the sins flee away and he starts singing the praises of the Ambrosial Name and get access to all the places. O Nanak, by associating with the Saints man’s life is fulfilled (pad 5).

In the company of Saints one cannot feel miserable because meeting and seeing them makes one happy. The company of Saints removes the disgrace, hell is avoided and man becomes happier to know that his life is fulfilled here and in the other world. In the company of Saints all those separated from the Lord have reunion. The company of Saints is not in vain because your wishes get fulfilled. The Supreme Lord resides in the hearts of Saints O Nanak gets relieved to hear His name on their tongue (pad 6).

In the guild of Saints (Sadhu-sangat); sing God’s praises, hear His Name, forgetting His Name becomes impossible, man is definitely saved, the God becomes sweet and pleasing to man, God resides in every heart, man becomes obedient and I have obtained salvation and got cured of all ailments O Nanak, meeting the Sadhu sangat was a destiny (pad 7).

 The greatness of Sadhu is not even known to the Vedas and they describe them as much as they have heard of them. The greatness of the Saints is beyond the three qualities and they are (akin to the God); all pervading, boundless glory, His praise is Infinite. The greatness of the Saints is highest of all; his honour is greatest of all. The difference between Saint and the Almighty becomes so minimal O my brother! (pad 8).
