Gems of Gurbani
Guru Granth Sahib
Onkar    4
God is the light that illuminates oceans and the earth. The great cherisher of the Universe is in all the three worlds. He is in all the forms when this divine knowledge dawns the mortal finds that the Lord has come to reside in his heart. Like heavy downpour His ambrosial Word  (Gurbani) is descending incessantly. That sublime word (Gurbani) emancipates the mortal. The mortal (Jeev) who has understood this secrete of the One Lord has become the creator and the luminous Lord Himself II 8 II
When the sun of divine knowledge has risen the mortals slay the demons like ego, anger, lust etc. He (mortal) rises above the worldly attachments and contemplates on the word of the Lord. In the higher and lower spheres of consciousness, from the beginning to endless horizon and in all the three worlds he sees only the One Lord. That one Lord Himself starts uttering and listening all. He, who writes our destiny, blesses us with His own body and soul. That sublime Creator comes to reside in our mind and utter from our mouth. The One Lord is the life of this world. There is none another like Him. Imbued with such Lord’s Name Nanak is honoured II 9 II
Remaining imbued day and night with His Name and overpowering the mind is becoming like King that has overpowered the enemy. The mortal becomes very pure, his body sanctified. In the love of Lord he starts remaining happy in his mind and enshrines the Name of Lord within. He knows the Lord fully and becomes like Him and start getting accolades in all three worlds and in all four ages II 10 II
Never get cross with the Lord instead quaff on His elixir. You have not come to this world forever. Even the Kings and pauper are not here forever. Everyone comes and goes from this world all through four ages. Everyone thinks that they will be able to remain here permanently but none remains whom shall I make the supplication? Only one Name comes to the mind that of the Eternal Lord. He is the one who can bless the mortals with understanding and honour II 11 II
