Gems of Gurbani
Guru Granth Sahib
Vaar Maajh       20

Shlok Second Guru
If a charmer of scorpions tries to handle serpents then he incites trouble with his own hands and burns himself.
If the Master has an order from the very beginning, one suffers exceedingly great jolts.
If a wayward (manmukh) takes on strife with a pious person then he is bound to drown. This seems to be the true justice.
He is the Master of both ends who beholds and justifies.
Nanak understands it in this way that this is His Will II 1 II

Second Guru
Nanak says if a man is introspective himself on his own only then he can become an assayer.
If a man can ascertain both the disease and its medicine only then he is a wise medicine man.
On the way a man shall not do any idle business instead he shall consider himself a guest.
He shall try to find company of people who know the Primal Lord and avoid any harmful sins.
A virtuous person who does not walk the path of avarice and abides in truth becomes acceptable.
If an arrow is aimed at the sky where will it reach? It will recoil and fall back at the archer II 2 II
Pauri
The love for her spouse makes a bride adorned with affection.
She does not restrain from singing his praises day and night and becomes devotional servant.
Bedecked with His Name she is adorned to have her abode in the Lord’s palace.
She looks beautiful in His company and moving around Him she follows all His orders.
With her dear bosom friends she prays before her Lord.
Accursed is the abode and reproachable is the life of that who live without Lord’s Name.
Adorned by the Lords Name she quaffs nectar II 22 II
