Hello FB friends
Let us contemplate the year that is just
passing away and will be gone with the stroke of mid night gong and world over
people will be celebrating and welcoming the New Year with fireworks and
Champaign. For India the year was good with few disasters here and there like
train accidents, and rapes and political leg pulling by all parties. These
things are so normal for us Indians that we have stopped reacting vehemently on
these matters and as usual forget to unite and fight for a cause. Not a very
big disaster though because life is time passes as usual. Our Prime Minister
Modi ji had the best time of his life in this year as he could visit maximum
number of countries on tax payers accounts and happily implemented new Bharat
swachhta abhiyan tax which is levied on all types of taxes like corporation
taxes, restaurant food bills, education cess and whatever other taxes we are
paying. It is conveniently charges from all taxpaying instruments. We are all
paying without questions so why bother? Modi ji ka swachhta Abhiyan or hamara sirf tax
hi hai naa? A year has passed but the clean India is still a distant dream Modi
ji.
The great Indian National Congress was thrown
from crown but could not sit idle and the biggest actions of the year were
taken for come back and as usual their politics remained dirty. They joined
hands with Nitish Kumar in Bihar and in Punjab with the separatists and called
for Sarbat Khalsa which is a prerogative of the Sikhs Supreme Seat – Akal Takht.
Their interference in religious matter of the Sikhs is unbearable and caused
much anxiety in Punjab. Their joining hand with separatists is a clear sign
that they want terrorism revived in Punjab and for them their own survival is
more important than peace in the country. A shameful act of the Congress Party.
On personal account the year was not as planned
but the efforts will continue and many missing gaps will be fulfilled so there
is no New year resolution as yet.
Wishing everybody a very pleasant and merry New Year.
Spread the message of peace and love and pray
for the sufferings of humans wherever there is disaster caused by humans and
nature.

Souls of Sikhism
Two tender souls known as ‘nikkiyan jinda wadde
sakke’( tender souls with great deeds) were youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh
ji. After leaving the fortress of Chamkaur where Sikhs were fighting a fierce
battle with ten lakh Mogul army and Hindu Kings of Himalayan mountains and had
no more food supplies. They decided to leave the fortress because history was
to witness the turn of events and downfall of Moguls, sealing of Indian borders
from invading marauders who were troubling the motherland with tyranny and oppression
of all kinds. The mountainous Hindu Kingdoms joined these marauders and
invaders because they were against the Sikh philosophy of equality for all and
knowledge to the poor to fight for their rights. Their luxurious life was
financed by the ignorant and fearful, blind faith and oppression bearing weak
Hindu masses. The family of Guru Gobind Singh ji separated in the dark rainy
night of wintry December. Or perhaps the Hindu Brahmin cook wanted to earn some
gold coins from Subedar Wazir Khan of Sirhind so he lead them to his village
nearby where he sent message and the youngest sons along with their grandmother
were arrested. Wazir Khan asked them to accept Islam and they will be spared
with their lives. Coming from a family of martyrs they knew the values of faith
and convictions. When Nawab of Malerkotla reprimanded the Subedar Wazir Khan
from killing small children and an aged grandmother they were asked again “if
we release you what will you do?” The young boys aged seven and nine replied:
we will again gather our Sikhs and fight till death to finish your tyranny and
misrule. This angered Wazir Khan and he ordered them to brick alive. When they
were being bricked alive they were again asked to accept Islam. They refused
following their conviction to freedom to believe in faith of their choice and
live a life of freedom from slavery. This angered the tyrant even more and he
asked for Jibah that is killing of animals in slow manner in Islam before they
partake as food. What cruelty and barbarism on small children. But two sons of
Guru Gobind Singh were steadfast in their belief and became the youngest
martyrs in the history of the world. Their bodies and that of their grandmother
Mata Gujar Kaur ji who was thrown from the fort and killed, were thrown in wild
barren land. But a Hindu follower of Guru Gobind Singh ji recovered the bodies
and bought land with gold coins to cremate them with honour. One Hindu betrays
them for gold coins and another spends all his gold coins to bring them honour
they deserved. This is the human nature that is cultivated with great
difficulty. When Guruji heard the sequence of their death penalty he declared
that today the dawn of Moguls sun is set.
An emissary of Guru Gobind Singhji came and
started destroying the Moguls from same land of Sirhind and wielded his sword
in such manner that Moguls and Afgans started fearing Sikhs though they were
always minority. His bravery and valor became exemplary for Sikhs and bases of
Sikh Empire was erected and invaders stopped forever to look at India. The dream
of Islamic invaders remained unfulfilled to convert India into an Islamic
country like they did in other parts of Asia. Today Muslims remain a minority
in India. It is important to bring this historical fact known to all Indians
that such tender souls have laid their lives for remaining convicted to freedom
of belief of your choice and freedom from slavery. We owe two tears to these
young boys Fateh Singh and Jorawar Singh who gave their lives so that we could
live in freedom with our believes. For me the freedom struggle of India had
started with martyrdom of these two tender souls.

A Tribute to two Sikh teen idols
On this day of 23 December two teenage sons of
Guru Gobind Singh ji became martyrs in a battle at Chamkaur. This battle of
Chamkaur has no parallel in the military history of the world. On one side
there were handful of Sikhs enclosed in a Fortress made of mud and on the other
side there was an army of 1000000 (ten lakhs) Mogul and Hindu Kingdoms of Himalayan
mountains. Just imagine the fear of Moguls and Hindu Kings that they came for
battles together to fight a handful of Sikhs. This shows the fear of the enemy
that they will face a small army of invincible Sikhs so they brought huge
force. Two teenage sons known as Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh have
become Sikh idols by becoming martyrs fighting in this battle. They are idols because
they are epitome of bravery, courage, convictions for righteousness and knights
in the real sense of the word. Their enthusiasm to fight for the human values
as per the dictates of the Almighty at the tender age of nineteen and fourteen
makes them outstanding in the history. No doubt that they were given proper
training in warfare and weaponry and how to value for human rights and
righteousness still the execution of all the training and convictions becomes
exemplary seeing their tender age. Encouragement from Guru Father by not
discriminating between two sons and other Singhs whom he addressed as his sons
too was that impulse that made them fight like invincible Knights and inflict
heavy losses of life in the enemy’s arena.
A tribute to these brave hearts of Sikh
History on their martyr’s day for showing us the path to righteousness,
convictions, a battle to fight tyranny and extremism. Please maintain two
minutes silence after reading this write up.

In dedication to Guru Gobind Singh ji
In today's terminology we would describe a multi-talented and multi-faceted personality for Guru Gobind Singh ji. But if you study the story of his life minutely you would say he was par excellence, he was beyond the understanding of normal human beings. He learnt so much in his short life and gave so much to the humanity that even the so called incarnations of God could not do for humanity. The incarnate of God fought battles for personal and family's honour whereas Guru Gobind Singh ji sacrificed his father, mother, four sons in the cause of human rights and to free the humanity from tyranny. He could see his father only after five years after his birth in Patna and then moved to Punjab. In those five years he was given extensive training and with his excellent grasping he had the hold on Brij language. Not only the hold, he could develop fine muse for the language that later he wrote his famous biography 'Bachitra Natak' in prose in that language. His hold in languages was so good that he not only wrote in Sanskrit, farsi, Prakrit and Punjabi but composed many books. After returning to Punjab his father Guru Teg Bahadur ji settled in Anandpur Sahib and he was given extensive training in weapons, horse riding and marshal games and of-course in Sikh history and philosophy. He was just nine years when his father was martyred in Delhi. It was the most terrifying period in Indian history where an Emperor had gone crazy with zeal to convert Hindus by force in to Islam. The janeyu's the sacred thread of upper caste Hindus weighed daily in mounds after killing them. Lacs of people were arrested daily and they had only two options convert or get killed. After Guru Teg Bahadur ji's martyrdom the events of conversion became lesser and it was hard time for Sikhs because Guru Gobind Singh ji started organising Sikhs and many Islamic rulers and mountain Kings didn't like the new religion that was teaching equality for all human beings. The wielding power of force doesn't work on awakened people for that corrupt rulers need downtrodden people. Guru ji had imbibed the philosophy of Guru Nanak so minutely at that young age of nine that he started contemplating on how to revive that spirit of awakening in people that the weakest could stand and fight for his and his countrymen's rights. He was so perturbed by the people of Delhi when his father was martyred that no one had the courage to come forward and claim his body. After the events of his father's martyrdom he decided to create a race from the same people who would be fearless, courageous but pure in intentions. To think of such mammoth task with handful of followers, no resources, no revenue and an Emperor as opponent who was so tyrannical and enjoyed the humiliation of people was not a mean task.

Sahibe Kamal - 1
In dedication to Guru Gobind Singhji
In dedication to Guru Gobind Singhji
Guru Gobind Singhji is that personality in Sikh History for whom Sikh's will be ready to lay their lives even today. He gave that impulse to the downtrodden, raised that spirit in them that we call 'Chardi. Kala",infused that bravery in his followers that people forgot to turn and look back instead prepared to die in dedication to the cause of humanity. He made a marshal race out of those people who embraced Islam out of fear instead of fighting for their rights, sufferings and humiliations. Understanding this personality of Guru Gobind Singh is not a job of common historian. Most historians are influenced by the contemporary ruling class, discriminatory outlook and their negligence to see the facts in right light. Back ground of so many historical facts, social conditions of the time and political situation are to be taken into consideration before we analyse a historical personality. After the death of Emperor Aurangzeb his successors were too weak to take control of the socio-political uprisings. The last Emperor was too dependent on the radical Muslim clergy and the Subedars of Punjab had become independent. A wide spread persecution of Sikhs followed and there were orders to kill Sikh on sight. Guru Gobind Singhji was aware of this political development but could't come to take situation in his hands as he was injured and later succumbed to his injuries. He sent an emissary with extraordinary powers to Punjab known as Banda Bahadur to organise Sikhs. He did that with all that graceful exhibition of power that a Sikh Empire was founded on it. With the creation of Sikh Empire a new unique impulse was born in this country that invaders were fearful to come to India and Khyber pass was forever closed to reach and terrify Indians. so much so that the handful mercenaries of England who had acquired political powers and established Empire after beating a retreat in Muslim rulers also feared the power of Khalsa. They couldn't look towards Punjab until the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
There will be an introduction to this great personality Guru Gobind Singh ji through historical, social, political perspectives in few write ups. The name Sahibe Kamal was given by an ardent admirer who was an Arya Samaji - Daulat Rai. Who wrote about him when Sikh historians were not yet prepared to give right perspective to the personality of Guru Gobind Singh ji and lot of other historians were writing a discriminatory account of Gurus personality.

Shaheedan nu Pranam
In Guru Granth Sahib there are 60 hymns written by Guru Teg Bahdur ji and they are all in Brij bhasa – a language spoken in eastern parts of the country like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. After Guru Nanak Devji major missionary work to spread Sikhism in far off places (out of greater Punjab) was done by Guru Teg Bahadur ji. He took up the missionary work on the trails of Guru Nanak in UP and Bihar and went from Assam and other sister states up to now Bangladesh. In Punjab the fear of Moghul and their tyranny had become lesser and people were getting ready to face them. According to the new policies of Islamization, Aurangzeb had started demolishing temples and the fear factor in east was so strong that all the Sikhs established by Guru Nanak there started coming to Guruji. Guru Teg Bahadur ji left for the east and spent 5 years in infusing spirit of chardi kala in those people. That is why all his hymns are in Brij bhasha. Guru ji was in Dacca when the news came that arbitrary islamisation will now starts by first converting Brahmins to Islam. The idea was that if the Brahmins were converted first it will be easier to convert other castes. This task was first started by Subedar of Kashmir. So Kashmiri Pundit who knew about Sikh Gurus because of the missionary work and battles of Guru Hargobind ji that only they can save us. They came to Guruji at Anandpur sahib and asked for a solution. After contemplating on this matter Guru ji thought of the great sacrifice of his Grandfather Guru Arjun Devji and his convictions to remain a true Sikh of house of Nanak. So even if he was not a votary of Tilak and janeyu he resolved to give his life to save humanity from the tyranny of Auranzeb. It was the plight of fellow human beings that his resolve to sacrifice his life was taken and he declared if the Emperor can convert Sikh Guru to Islam others will follow. If he is not successful in converting the Sikh Guru he will stop the tyrannical dictate of forcible conversions. On hearing this declaration the Emperor ordered his arrest. Guru Teg Bahadurji was prepared for this heroic task by his father Guru Hargobind ji. He was left alone for meditation in Bakala at his grandmother’s house. 13 years of secluded life for meditation and contemplation a great soul, a master was ready to take up the heroic and supreme task that has no parallel in the history of the world. A self sacrifice for own religion and convictions is heard of but for the sake of humanity and plight of fellow human beings was never heard of before. He saved Hindus from ghastly conversion dictates of the Emperor and for that reason he is known as Hind di chadar.
On this day of his martyr’s day let us all pray for him and pay our tributes.

Ekk Baba Akal Murat
As a child Guru Nanak was very inquisitive and often sat with the wandering Sadhus and Jogis who travelled away from main routes of the invaders. He was very inquisitive to know about the world beyond his village. They often discussed the religion, political and social situations of the country, plight of the poor and downtrodden and debated on the truth of the Almighty. He also learnt about the Siddhas from them. They believe in Shiva as their Supreme God and with their Yogic discipline attain super natural powers. When he grew up and started wandering called Udasis he often encountered these Siddhas in Himalayan Mountains as they were living in those regions away from the civilisation. Guru Nanak was perturbed by their indifference in the matter of country and plight of poor and downtrodden. The world all around was suffering and they were busy in selfish pursuit of achieving emancipation from this world and union with God. He felt that this pursuit was of physical nature because after attaining these super natural powers these people could not contribute to the humanity and he wonders how even after achieving these siddhis these people could unite with the Almighty because their hearts were full of arrogance of achievements, selfishness and there was no place for the Almighty. There are many verses in the Granth Sahib that show his rejection of such people. I will mention here one verse from page 637 which I personally feel is very beautiful.
He says:" A person when reciting the name of the Almighty reaches that state of mind where he gets elevated to feel that his heart is full of the light of morning sun and he feels like the opening of the lotus flower and he gets elevated to that knowledge which he may not get after achieving all eight 'siddhis' and nine 'treasures' and dips in the holy rivers."

Why do you stand up and
look at the sky for clouds again and again? This cloud has nothing to

treasure Him in mind He might shower His grace on you. Nanak, all those who are

The pious person is not

India by butchering people and burning village after villages, he reaches
Aimnabad (Now in Pakistan) and created havoc by mercilessly killing all males,
captivating women and burning the entire town. Guru Nanak ji was returning
after his third udasi (travel) along with Mardana when he was captured too in Aimnabad.
The tyranny of the invader was so massive that Guru Nanak didn’t shy to
reprimand the Almighty for His neglect of humanity. But later that year he
writes this episode in Vaar form in Raag Malar. In this Vaar his hero is none
other than Almighty Himself under whose Will the whole play is created and the
lust and desire become like that fire that consumes everything once it is given
freedom. This fire of lust and desire cannot be satiated even when one goes to
live in the jungle, does fasting or several rites and penances. There are 28
Pauris or stanzas in this Vaar and one of them is written by Guru Arjun Devji
and 27 stanzas are by Guru Nanak ji. The Vaar displays the socio-political conditions

with deep red colour flowers used for making dye). The heart blooms like lotus
flower and happiness overtakes by obeying the words of Guru. Look around
everywhere the wayward person is on the other side of the God. Ultimately he
snares like a deer caught in the net of a hunter and sees the messengers of
death coming to him lurking on his head. Vile are hunger and thirst for desires
and horrible are the lust and wrath. Unless one contemplates on Lord the same
eyes do not see the difference. When it pleases you O Lord you can make a man
content and free him from all worldly entanglements. You save his capital
investment in You O Lord because he makes Guru a ladder and a boat for his
salvation. If the mind and heart become truthful O Nanak, whosoever is attached
to the True Lord receives his quintessence II 1 II
First Guru
There is only one road and
only one door (to reach God). He himself is the ladder to reach one’s own home.
Beauteous is the Lord O
Nanak where all comforts attained in the True Name II2 II
Pauri
Lord has created Himself
and He, alone knows Himself. He has separated earth from sky like a canopy over
the firmament. His command is manifested only by His word and sky stands
without pillars.
Creating the sun and moon
He has infused His own light in them.
Creating day and night He
has shown His wondrous plays.
He created the places for
pilgrimages to contemplate on goodness and bathe on auspicious occasions.
There is no equal to You O
Lord! How can I describe and narrate on you?
Thou alone are seated on the
eternal throne O Lord, all others just come and go II 1 II

Shlok Second Guru
All those who have taken
the instructions from Guru (From Guru Nanak’s teachings) and have been taught
and put on right path remain absorbed in the praises of One True Lord.
What instructions can be
imparted to them who have taken instructions but have incarnated Guru Nanak? II
1 II
(This shlok of Guru Angad
Devji is a big blow to all those learned people who have not learnt the message
of Guru Nanak that the God is only One and He cannot be incarnated that means
He can never take any form, shape, colour and birth).
First Guru
He, whom He Himself causes
to understand, understands Him.
Whom the Lord Himself
gives knowledge, he comes to know everything.
The Preachers are regularly
preaching and sermons are being explained but long for money or wealth.
The Supreme commander has
created the entire creation and He Himself understands the mental outlook of
all.
Nanak, the Lord Himself
has uttered the Word and all doubts vanish when the devotee understands this
gift II 2 II
Pauri
Me, a jobless bard God has
employed to His service. In the beginning He asked me to sing His praises day
and night. Then the Master asked me, O bard come to my Court!
Then He clothed me with
robes of His true honour and eulogy. Since then True name has become my
ambrosial food.
They who follow the Guru’s
instructions eat this food to their full satisfaction.
By singing the Guru’s
hymns I the Bard, am spreading the word of God.
Nanak, by praising the
True Lord I have obtained the perfect Lord II 27 II
Note ; Vaar Maajh is
concluded with this Pauri.

(In this following shlok Guru Nanak has
described the life of Jogis who roam around the landscape of India even to date.
Their self respect is lost but they adhere to this life style because they do
not want to work for their living and keep depending on the earnings of others.
Their example is taken here to show the useless-ness of a being who are not
ready to work for their earning a living and losing self respect makes no
difference to them).
They shore their heads,
drink dirty water and beg for their living and eat even left overs.
They spread the garbage
and take in its odour and breathe it out from their mouth and are shy of water.
They have their heads
shorn like sheeps and their hands smeared with ashes.
They leave the daily
routine of their mother and father and leave them wailing loudly.
None will serve barley
pinnies( kind laddus made for the occasion)on leaves when they depart and none will light an earthen lamp for
them. Where are these people thrown after death?
All the sixty eight
pilgrimages do not grant them refuge and the Brahmins will not eat their food.
They are ever filthy and
do not bear any sacrificial frontal marks on their foreheads.
They huddle together in a
group but do not enter the Court (of the Lord).
The begging bowl on their
wastes and woolen clew in their hands they walk in a file.
They are not the disciples
of Gorakh nor are they devotees of Shiva not even Muslim judges or Mullahas.
They lose the benevolent
God’s graciousness and are disgraced to live a corrupt vagabond life.
Only the God can kill them
and restore their life, none other can protect them.
They cannot even give alms
in their life or perform ablutions. Only their shorn head catches even more
dust.
By churning ocean with Golden
Mountain as staff the jewels were procured and sixty eight pilgrimages were
created where people could celebrate festivals and sing hymns.
After ablutions the
Muslims say prayers and so does a Hindu says his prayers after ablution and the
wise ever bathes.
The dead and living are
both purified by pouring water on their heads.
Nanak says the shorn head
are like devils who never take to good advice.
When it rains there is
happiness everywhere because the key is that life spring from water.
The corn, the sugar cane
and cotton that comes from rain covers everything.
The rains grow grass and
cows graze and women churn the curds from their milk.
The clarified butter is
then used for havan and all other religious rites are performed in various
ceremonies.
The Guru is the ocean and
all his teachings are the river where by bathing wisdom is obtained.
Nanak says; if the shorn
heads (those who have lost self-respect) do not bathe in the word of Guru, they
only get hands full of dust on their shorn heads II 1 II
Second Guru
What can cold do to fire? And
how can night affect the sun? What effect can darkness have on the Moon? What
effect can a caste have on air and water? What shall earth do with Chattels
when it can produce everything on its own?
Nanak says the self
respect is preserved only if the Lord desires to preserve the honour of his
devotees II 2 II
Pauri
Oh! You Wondrous True Lord
I have sung your praises all the while because yours is the eternal Court and
all others are only coming and going.
All those who only ask for
the charity of your true Name are like you. With the True Name they get adorned
and their command becomes true.
By believing in you one receives
the true knowledge and strength to meditate on your Name.
By your grace one receives
a permanent mark of your Name that cannot be rubbed off or effaced.
You are a True giver O
Lord and bestow more and more. Nanak asks only for those gifts that are
pleasing to You II 26 II

Not only a revolutionary
Today on Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary I
would like to share a few words with all my friends. Bhagat Singh’s
inspirational life of a National Hero was so short lived that we are devoid of
his guidance that the youngster could get if he lived a little longer. In my
last visit to Amritsar I stumbled upon a book that contained notes that Bhagat
Singh made after reading books by famous authors, political articles and
magazines during his jail term in Lahore jail. When he left home to learn work
of publishing in Kanpur and learnt a lot from Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi who was
not only a fierce type of journalist but a great patriot. Bhagat Singh also
learnt that the revolution is nothing like a romantic journey in one’s life but
one has to make a mature outlook on revolutionary ideas. For that one needs to
know the life of several revolutionary activists, their thinking pattern and
their dedication to achieve their goals. With this in mind he searched all the libraries
in Lahore and gave direction to develop his own path of revolutionary thinking
and what was necessary to bring change. He spent much of his time reading books
and his pockets use to be full of notes that he made every day. Before he
started organizing students and other youngsters to fight for freedom of India
he had consolidated his own political thinking and brought maturity in his
design to fight for the freedom of India. He was hanged at the young age of 23
but his short life was so inspiring that even today he is an idol for many
youngsters. This all was possible because by self learning from books had made
him mature to understand his goals.
Salute
to this great revolutionary on his birth anniversary.

Installation of Universal Guru
On 14th September Sikh world is
celebrating the installation of Guru Granth Sahib in Harmandir Sahib Amritsar.
It is a celebration day not only for Sikhs but the whole of humanity. Enshrined
in this Epic Granth are teachings of revered Masters of Sikhs and 11 Bhagtas
who belonged to Bhakti movement much before Guru Nanak’s time. Inclusion of
their Bani is evidence that the world was going on a dark path where humanity
and humanitarian thinking had taken a back seat, religion and religious heads
had started misguiding and pushing people into darkness of ignorance,
superstitions, illiteracy and they were forced to live in subjugation of not
only religious heads but Kings and Emperors. Bhagtas started a movement to
fight for their rights to pray in temples and sing praises of One Almighty for
whom the whole humanity is equal, challenging the powers and announcing that
the division of the society is man made. All the efforts of those Bhagtas are
included in the Granth who collaborated the same view as Gurus that there is
only One True Lord and His truth is that for Him all humanity is equal and
there is love for all even when they are different in race. That the
differences been created by the Lord Himself for His own appeasement. The
physical differences are the play of that Creator so that mortals understand
His unlimited powers, His Infinite and eternal character.
In raag Mundawani Fifth Guru Ang (Page) 1429 has
elaborated the greatness of Guru Granth Sahib because its main content is
Shabad or Word that has come as Anahad Bani or untouched sound through
utterances of the Gurus. Its compilation that was presented by Guru Arjun Devji
the Fifth Master in a book form so that the Bani become eternal and the message
of the Almighty is recorded and documented as reference to guide humanity on
righteous path.
Anahad Bani means a sound that comes without
touch. To explain further a sound is usually created by friction of two
metallic or even non metallic materials. Anahad is a sound that is creation of
The Almighty that comes without friction. Gurbani is called Anahad Bani because
it came as enlightenment to the writers themselves. Guru Arjun Ji has
documented the greatness of Guru Granth sahib ji in Mundawani raag as follows:
Thaal wich tin vastu paiyo, sat santokh vicharo
II
Amrit naam thakhur ka paiyo, jis ka sabas
adharo II
Je ko khave je ko bhunche, tis ka hove udharo
II
Eh vast taji nahin jayi, nit nit rakh uri dhare
II
Tam sansar charan lagi tariye, sab Nanak brahm
pasaro II 1II GG ang 1429
Meaning: Three things – truth, contentment and
meditation are served in a platter. The Nectar Name of the Lord who is the
support of all is also put in there. If someone partakes this fare and if
someone relishes it, he is emancipated. This cannot be forsaken never ever so
keep it enshrined in your mind. All that spread is His Creation so at His Feet
you shall get the salvation and this dark world ocean is crossed. O Nanak,
everything is extension of the Lord.
The creation of human beings and all the three
worlds took a strange path where there was darkness of ignorance and religion
was created where God and His message were forgotten and rules and regulations
took precedent. Much bondage was created to divide humanity on basis of birth,
colour of the skin, food, geographic and economic monopolies, boundaries etc.
This all was done by people with vested interests and lust for domination,
power and exploitation. The ideal human character was absorbed by the desires
and if the desires are not fulfilled the doubt and fear were created and
solution to these were given by the learned people forgetting all the while
that there is one eternal Truth and that is the presence of Omniscient Lord.
His will was forgotten. The world needed emancipation and that is to reach that
status whose foundation was laid by the Creator Himself by placing a part of
Himself in every body. The basic desire of every human being is to reach that
ideal state where he has physical, material, psychic, intellectual and
spiritual achievements and inner peace. Achieving this entire he reaches realm
of harmony with himself, his near ones and the world around him. This is the
real principle of emancipation.
All the religious books were saying same things
in varied styles and languages but the interpretation of the religious
doctrines were overpowered by the religious heads for their own vested
interests and divisions in God’s will were created and humanity was divided.
Revelation of this truth came to Guru Nanak and
he started preaching the truth and making reconciliation between two major
religions of his time was his mission. He based his theory on Oneness of God
who is a Universal Entity and sees the entire creation with equality, love,
compassion and benevolence and not particular creed or race. All preaching of
Guru Nanak, that of Bhagats that were collected by him during his various
travels were documented and compilation of this work by adding the Banis of other
Gurus and his own were done by Guru Arjun Devji the fifth Master. The
compilation work took fifteen months and a monumental Granth was created with
unique features like respect for writers irrespective of their caste and
standing in the society, compilation featuring musical ragas of Indian music
and the original banis of Bhagtas and others were maintained in their own
languages thus a glimpse of languages and their structure for research is
available. The art of expression of phrases and contemporary living and social
customs were included for example the Barah Maha the seasons’ poetry and vairag
the pain of separation were given a new expression and all the social customs
to singing marriage songs, alahania etc were given new dimensions by associating
it with Almighty.
Wish everyone a very happy first
installation of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
