Guru Granth Sahib  21

The glory of japuji Sahib;

 God is Supreme – in the beginning stanzas of Japuji Guru Nanak ji explain us the Supreme nature of God. He is the truth, He was truth and He will ever be truth and from the beginning of ages His truth has been maintained by Himself. Even if one ponders lacs of times His conception are beyond human understanding so vast is His realm that we may collect all the wealth, knowledge, we may keep the vows of silence and all these material achievements will not go with us when it is time to depart it is His preordained Will that is maintained. It is His Will that bodies are created and souls are transmitted and greatness can be achieved. Though millions of description are made, His praises, His magnificence and excellences, His bounties and His power of Creation and then reducing to dust are sung, some say that He gives life and then takes it away but He is a great Giver and He will keep giving and man can get tired of taking from Him but He is the Supreme Commander who will keep walking on His path. Then how do we achieve Him? People ask for alms and He keeps bestowing, how should we chant His name, how can we see the door to His realm? Nanak says; chant His name in the ambrosial hours of the day and His benediction of life and clothing your soul that is human body and its salvation will be bestowed. Know thus O Nanak that He is True One and He is all by Himself and He is neither established nor created by anyone. They who serve Him obtain the honour of His benediction, all the pain will be gone and happiness can be taken home. Gurbani (reciting which one becomes Gurmukh- God centric) is the divine Word, Lords knowledge and through Gurbani Lord is realized that He is Supreme and all Pervading. He is the Guru,He is Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and Parvati. Guru has explained to me that I cannot narrate Him, I cannot describe Him but He is the One Whom I shall not forget.
