The glory of Japuji Sahib; God is the mainstay of the world

Guru Nanak says; In Puranas they say earth is held by a bull but who is holding the bull? He rejects this theory and says the mainstay of this world is God Himself and science has proved his version that earth moves on its own axis.

Kar kar vekhe nadir nihal II tithe khand mandal varbhand II je ke kathe ta ant naa ant II

God beholds the Creation which He has created and renders them happy (By casting His merciful glance). In that realm there are continents, worlds, solar system. If someone tries to describe them there are no limits and bounds of them (this proves Guru Nanak’s concept of God that he is trying to tell us in Mul Mantra or invocation).

Nanak says mystery of the world cannot be solved by anyone and we can never know why there are universes and laws of their functions. God beholds this world and He is the only one who can contemplate on it.

Guru Nanak further says to know the truth of God and His creation one must learn that it is like iron that cannot be bent the way we want. We shall have patience like a Goldsmith who keeps hammering the gold on his anvil very patiently till it gets in desired shape and the rhythm of this hammering doesn’t disturb him and the temperature of his furnace to mould the gold doesn’t bother him. One must learn to be like a goldsmith; have patience like him, have knowledge hammered on you like his anvil, the fear of God like his blow pipe with which he blows in his furnace, meditate on His name like the temperature of the furnace, and make yourself like a utensil in which nectar of God’s name can be filled.

This is the realm of truth about the existence of God that Nanak has tried to explain us and guided us to the path to achieve it. He names this realm of His truth as Sachuh Khand which is God’s abode. His Will or Hukam prevails here and He constantly contemplates and has ingrained His Will in everyone and we shall follow His discipline to merge in His light. Those who are successful achieve His Grace and that is the salvation.
