Gems of Gurbani
Guru Granth Sahib
Asa di waar  2
The glory of Lord (The God) and His Creation that we have learned in Japuji Sahib has been again consolidated in Asa di waar. Guru Nanak has confirmed that His Creation is not an illusion instead it is a reality and a higher Truth. Creation and then taking care of it, destroying and regeneration on this principle the universe is sustaining. In the regeneration process the creation takes a new format and in this changed format its existence is sustained. In mul mantra Guru Nanak has maintained that God can never be destroyed so is His Creation. Birth and death are under His Command (Hukam) and due to His Will a mortal comes and goes: jamun marna hukam hai bhane aave jaye II pg 472.
Nanak hukami likhiye lekh II jeha vekhe teha vekh II pg 466
Destiny of a mortal is written under His Will and as a mortal sees Him so does He sees them. He has delightfully created this universe as His Abode and we realize this Truth that He has created continents and the solar system. His Truth, His command, His deliberations, His orders, His true Grace are sign of His presence, even though lacs and millions call Him true, His power and might is His Omnipresent existence but those who are born and die are the false ones.
Great is His glory that His Name is great, His justice is great, His throne is stable, His knowledge about our utterances and His grace to give us without asking, O Nanak ! He is all in all and cannot be narrated because what he does and why He does, He alone is aware of that. Guru Nanak says: ikanna hukam samai ikanna hukame kare vinas II ikanna bhane kadh laye ikanna maya wich niwas II meaning; It is His pleasure that some He absorbs in Himself and others he destroys. Some He withdraws from the illusion and others He leaves in such illusions. This He does because He can recognize those who are Gurmukh or God oriented and He reveals Himself to them with His enlightenment.
Guru Nanak wonders at the mysteries of The Lord which he explains in the next stanza (Pauri) : Marvelous is your word, your knowledge, your forms and colors, beings who roam about naked, the wind and the water, the fire that plays and works wonders, the wonderful earth with several mines that has   several sources of production, your ideas of merry making to which mortals get attached, you unite and then cause separation, you cause hunger and then satiate it, your praises and your eulogy, the great wilderness and a path is shown, your nearness and then going away. Your wonderful way to be there and beholding your position that O Nanak! I keep wondering upon your all wonderful ways and I am sure all those who recognize and realize this are perfectly fortunate ones.
